WNOV back on the air

Milwaukee radio station WNOV-AM (860), which had been off the air but streaming its signal online since Sunday, was back on the airwaves Wednesday.

Station management didn't return a reporter's phone call, but morning show host Sherwin Hughes tweeted Monday that "technical issues" were the source of the problem. The signal had continued on the station's website, wnov860.com.

Courier Communications-owned WNOV has been on the air in Milwaukee for more than 40 years, in recent decades with daytime hours dominated by mostly local talk shows, along with a music lineup of urban contemporary, gospel and classic R&B.
